Bubble Gum and Birthday Wishes

Wasn't I just 7?!
I know I was... I remember sitting at the dinner table staring at my dinner plate, you know the one with the 3 sections for your food? It was a farm scene, It had numbers around the edge 1 to 12 in positions like a clock. I always chew gum, and I took my gum out of my mouth for dinner and placed it on the edge of my plate on the number that cooresponded with my age. I know, sounds a little gross now, but didn't bat a lash at it back then. Oh, how I disliked that I was way back on the number 7... I wanted to be at the 10 or the 12 soooo bad.
I was just 7!!!

Alas, today I turned 29. Where did the time, and that plate go to?

Here is a fun little video I made for my mama, but I'll let you all enjoy it. BUT ONLY IF YOU COMMENT on this, or another one of my blog posts AND SUBSCRIBE TO MY BLOG!

Thanks Guys!

Smiling at Heaven

I am a few days behind on my daily devotional reading and caught all up today. The following is the reading that was for Feb. 10th. I just love how the Lord spoke to me and how on Feb. 10th my friend was dealing with some ugly comments people were showering her with and I was able to be used of the Lord to pass this along to her. I hope this blesses some of you too.

From the book "Streams in the Desert"
Feb. 10th

"Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves" (Rom. 12:19).

There are seasons when to be still demands immeasurably higher strength than to act. Composure is often the highest result of power. To the vilest and most deadly charges Jesus responded with deep, unbroken silence, such as excited the wonder of the judge and the spectators. To the grossest insults, the most violent ill-treatment and mockery that might well bring indignation into the feeblest heart, He responded with voiceless complacent calmness. Those who are unjustly accused, and causelessly ill-treated know what tremendous strength is necessary to keep silence to God.

"Men may misjudge thy aim,
Think they have cause to blame,
Say, thou art wrong;
Keep on thy quiet way,
Christ is the Judge, not they,
Fear not, be strong."

St. Paul said, "None of these things move me."

He did not say, none of these things hurt me. It is one thing to be hurt, and quite another to be moved. St. Paul had a very tender heart. We do not read of any apostle who cried as St. Paul did. It takes a strong man to cry. Jesus wept, and He was the manliest Man that ever lived. So it does not say, none of these things hurt me. But the apostle had determined not to move from what he believed was right. He did not count as we are apt to count; he did not care for ease; he did not care for this mortal life. He cared for only one thing, and that was to be loyal to Christ, to have His smile. To St. Paul, more than to any other man, His work was wages, His smile was Heaven. --Margaret Bottome

Happy Eating

Quick Dinner Idea: Loaded Potatos

Need a unique idea for dinner this week? Try this and let me know what you think.

Step #1) Wash potatoes and rub with safflower oil, kosher salt and fresh cracked pepper

Step #2) Stab the tater a few times

Step#3) Wrap in foil

Step#4) Place foil covered taters into your trusty crock pot and turn on high to allow your potatoes to cook for 4-6 hours or low and you can cook them for 6-8 hours.

Step#5) Go crazy with your toppings! Below is a picture of what I made, but there are a lot of other toppings to consider like avocado, bacon, ortega chiles, ranch dressing, chicken, etc...

From top: shredded cheese, butter, pepper, ham (you can't see it), homemade salsa, sea salt, blanched veggies: asparagus, broccoli, bell pepper, onions)
Happy Eating,
